The collection of scientific papers "Electronics and Information Technologies" has been published since 1966. In 1966-2010, the journal was published under the title "Theoretical Electrical Engineering".
"Theoretical Electrical Engineering" is one of the first scientific and technical publications in Ukraine devoted to the problems of theoretical electrical engineering, electronics, and modeling.

The collection was created on the initiative of the rector of Lviv State University named after I. Franko, Professor M. Maksymovych, who was the editor-in-chief of the collection until 1981. Subsequently, the chief editors of the collection were: Professor L. Synytsky (1981-1991), Professor P. Stakhiv (1991-1996), and Professor I. Bolesta (1996-2024).
