Abstract

Palynological analysis of two fossil organic profiles excavated from Polish Carpathian Foreland revealed the main features of plant cover at the initial stages of Holocene. Pine-larch boreal forests were dominating at the beginning of contemporary interglacial epoch. Total forestation was the feature of difference from other Middle European geographic regions. Herbaceous coenosis were just a local speeded over short term deforestation of natural or possibly human origin.
