Improved Boundary Sampling Techniques for Smoothed
Particle Hydrodynamics with Rigid Body Coupling

Анотація


A simple way to handle fluid–rigid interaction in Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) is introduced. The method uses only one boundary layer with a volume–corrected mass for boundary particles. Multi–layer boundaries are accurate but heavy in practice. The idea is to keep a single layer on the rigid surface and compensate missing neighbors with a local volume estimate. With this, density and pressure near the wall stay consistent, even for thin shapes, while the number of interactions goes down. The method drops into
WCSPH (Weakly compressible SPH) and PCISPH (Predictive-corrective incompressible SPH) without special forces or position corrections, and it keeps symmetry of momentum exchange.
