ЗВІДКИ І КУДИ ПРОЛЯГАВ ШЛЯХ ІЗ ВАРЯГ У ГРЕКИ, АБО ЯК ГЕОГРАФІЯ СПРОСТОВУЄ ІСТОРИЧНІ МІФИ

Анотація


     Стаття присвячена дискусійній проблемі історичної географії Русі – реконструкції можливого маршруту знаменитого Шляху із варяг у греки. Основна увага приділяється таким питанням: чи міг у ранньому середньовіччі функціонувати водний шлях за маршрутом, описаним у Повісті временних літ, який в сучасній історіографії став заледве не канонічним; чи взагалі існував цей торговельний Шлях, який вважається стержнем формування державної території Руської імперії, чи він є лише вигадкою пізнішого переписувача літопису? Відповідь на них ґрунтується на аналізі інформації з джерел та наукових розвідок, який дав змогу по-новому осмислити проблему і припустити існування іншої, відмінної від літописної, версії маршруту Шляху.
