Анотація

The new occurrence of manganese in Azov region consists mainly of spessartine in
association with the minerals of silica, which form gondite-like rocks. They replace
amphibolites. In similar conditions graphite concentrations are formed. It is assumed that
weathering of manganese occurrences in silicate forms in the crystalline basement led to
forming of oxidised manganese ores in the shield’s cover.
