ЖЕЛЕЗИСТЫХ КВАРЦИТОВ МЕСТОРОЖДЕНИЯ ИТАКПЕ-ХИЛЛ
(НИГЕРИЯ)

Анотація


On the basis of geologic-genetic studies using ontogenetic method and mineralogical
mapping of the ferruginous quartzites and rich iron ores at Itakpe Hill (Nigeria), the
mineral-geochemical zonings were examined on a background of progressive granulite,
retrograde amphibolite metamorphic facies and alkaline metasomatism. Three ore-genetic
zones have been distinguished, which are differed in mineralogy, internal zoning of ore-
bodies, contents of ore components and intensity of metamorphic processes. It was
established that in each zone the major ore-forming minerals – magnetite, hematite,
quartz – are differed also in morphology, anatomy and typomorphism. The evolution of
these typomorphic peculiarities reflects dynamism of mineral formation processes and
physical-chemical conditions at all stages of ore formation.
