Стаття  присвячена 50- рiччю  факультету прикладної математики та iнформатики Львiвського нацiонального унiверситету iменi Iвана Франка, висвiтлює   найважливiшi  етапи його становлення  та  розвитку.

The article commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and provides a comprehensive overview of its historical development. It traces the origins of the faculty from the early initiatives in computational mathematics and programming in the late 1950s and 1960s, highlighting the establishment and evolution of key departments and academic programs. The authors present the formation of inuential scientic schools and the contributions of
leading scholars to applied mathematics, numerical analysis, computer science, and cybersecurity. The article emphasizes the modernization of the faculty's infrastructure, including the creation of computing centers and specialized laboratories, as well as fruitful collaborations with the IT industry. Particular attention is given to student achievements in national and international programming competitions and the development of double-degree programs
and academic mobility initiatives.
