INFLUENCE OF “VITAKORM-BSR-FORTE” PREPARATION ON THE ANTIOXIDANT AND CYTOPROTECTIVE PROCESSES IN THE MUCOSA OF SMALL INTESTINE UNDER THE ACTION OF AFLATOXIN B1
DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/sbi.1003.493
Abstract
The mechanism of aflatoxin B1 influence on the cells of small intestine mucosa and the possibility of correction and prevention of metabolic disorders in animals using
“Vitakorm-BSR-Forte” phytopreparation was investigated. Intragastrial administration of aflatoxin B1 (15 µg/kg body weight daily, for 14 days) to albino rats resulted in changes in the activity of mucosal NO-synthase, which mediate the process of synthesis of nitrogen oxide (NO) – an endogenous regulator of cellular functions. Changes in L-arginine concentration in the plasma of blood related to the activity of NO-synthases. At the same time, the aflatoxin B1 stimulating effect on the activities of antioxidant system enzymes and processes of lipid peroxidation in the cells of small intestine mucosa was observed. These results suggest that induction of formation of free radicals and initiating lipid peroxidation reactions, leading to a decline in antioxidant protection may represent one of the links in the pathogenic mechanisms of aflatoxin action. The administration of “Vitakorm-BSR-Forte” preparation in the conditions of aflatoxin action inhibited development of the oxidative stress and alleviated the NO-mediated disturbances in cellular metabolism, caused by the influence of aflatoxin. Consequently, “Vitakorm-BSR-Forte” preparation can exert positive effects in prevention and treatment of mycotoxicosis.
