The complex of models of estimation and analysis of development of economy of Ukraine is considered in the article based on research of dynamics of the basic macroeconomic indicators using the tools of the theory of economy of happiness. The influence of macroeconomic indicators on the level of well-being is determined and the correlation between them for estimation of the level of happiness index of the Ukrainian economy is revealed. Based on the method of correlation analysis using the Fechner coefficient, the article established the patterns of formation of components of the happiness index and identified the correlation between the level of the shadow economy and the average life expectancy, the level of the shadow economy and mortality, the unemployed and mortality. It is substantiated that in the modern world the basis for calculating this index is GDP, life expectancy and well-being of the population. The place of Ukraine in the international rating of "happy" countries by the index of happiness - Happy Planet Index is analyzed. The interrelation between demographics and financial indicators is examined. The compilers of the World Happiness Report rated the Happiness Index at six positions. Some of them take into account the objective indicators - GDP per capita and life expectancy. The rest is subjective, as it is based on the results of a poll, which participants answer questions about freedom of choice, charity, social support and the degree of tolerance for corruption. Analyzing the Happy Planet Index In Ukraine, it can be argued that as of 2019, our country ranks 133rd in the international ranking of "happy" countries from 156 countries. The explanation for this may be a five-year war that does not add optimism and a sense of security, without which people can not feel completely happy. The direct dependence of the shadow economy with the average life expectancy is revealed. An explanation for this may be the increase in financial securement of the individuals resulting from the increase in the opacity of the economy.

The significant direct impact of the shadow economy on the life satisfaction level of the Ukraine population, which is manifested in the indicator of average life expectancy, is an alarming signal regarding the state of affairs in public life. Such a pattern indicates a critical level of setting the population to solve their economic problems in the sphere of shadows rather than official relations. The relevant benchmarks of this study should be taken into account when assessing the socio-economic situation and risks in Ukraine.

Keywords: well-being, life expectancy, shadow economy, GDP, Happy Planet Index.
