The structure of the binary germanide
PrGe1.910(7) has been determined by
single-crystal X-ray diffraction: Pearson symbol oS36-12.72, space group Cmmm, a = 4.2721(6),
b = 30.673(4), c = 4.1433(6) Å, Z = 8.
The structure is a derivative of the type TbGe2 and related to the types (Sm,Lu)Ge1.85 and DyGe1.85.
These types can be represented as a linear intergrowth of three consecutive AlB2-type
slabs of trigonal prisms and two CaF2-type
slabs.
CaF2-type slab in the
structure of PrGe1.91.
