The isothermal section of the phase diagram of the Y–Cu–Sn ternary system was constructed at 673 K in the
whole concentration range, using X-ray diffraction and EPM
analyses. The interaction between the elements results in the formation of five
ternary compounds at the investigated temperature: YCuSn (NdPtSb-type structure), Y3Cu4Sn4 (Gd3Cu4Ge4-type),
YCu5Sn (CeCu6-type), Y1.9Cu9.2Sn2.8
(CeNi5Sn-type), and YCu4.65Sn0.35 (MgCu4Sn-type).
