Two new ternary phases, EuCu8Ga5
and YbCu5Ga7, were prepared by arc-melting. Their crystal
structures were investigated on single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. The
above mentioned phases crystallize with known structure types, namely, NaZn13
and ThMn12, respectively. Details of the structures (interatomic distances, coordination of the atoms) are
briefly discussed.
The unit cell and the coordination polyhedra of the atoms in the structures of the EuCu8Ga5
phase.
