VERBALIZATION OF the FUNCTIONS of the HORSE IN THE UKRAINIan FOLK SONG

Анотація

The research focused on the functions performed by a horse as verbalized in different ways in the Ukrainian song folklore. Ethnic and cultural specificity of the verbalized image of a horse in folk songs is identified. The research of the semantics of the horse image in the works under study singled out three different functions of the animal reflecting the most important aspects of the naïve categorization of the world. It is found out that verbal image of a horse in the folk songs under analysis has positive semantics that reflects general idea of this animal in the worldview of the Ukrainian people.
