PROPERTIES OF SHAHNAMEH'S PLANTS IN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE AND IRANIAN'S TALESHS POPULAR CULTURE

Анотація

The Shahnameh is the work of Ferdowsi Toosi, a famous sage of Iran. In this huge and valuable book, many herbs are mentioned, whose traces can still be seen in the traditional medicine and popular culture of different Iranian peoples. One of the original Iranian tribes who live in the northwest of Iran and the southwest of the Caspian Sea, is called "Talesh". Although the Taleshans are considered to be one of the relatively small population of Iran, they have been able to preserve many of their traditional beliefs and customs, which are rooted in ancient Iranian culture, and are safe from the danger of destruction. In the present research, which is done for the first time, the properties of the mentioned herbs of Shahnameh in traditional medicine and popular culture of Talesh people have been studied. The method of collecting materials was focused on field researches in Astarai city of Talesh ethnic region.

The necessity of working on the present topic is that so far no research has been done on the properties of medicinal plants listed in the Shahnameh in traditional medicine and Taleshan public culture, and the available individual studies have investigated the general medicinal plants of Iran or the plants included in the Shahnameh, among which You can refer to the book “The Most Common Traditional Medicinal Plants of Iran” by Dr. Gholamreza Amin in the form of a book.
